If a game is F2P, it likely is loaded with microtransactions, so Sony probably acknowledges that model works best when people have open access to it. I would argue that’s what’s helped PSN’s stability (compared to the old days) and why XBL has been generally stable. I believe the general concept is, in order to effectively run and maintain a massive online infrastructure, Sony needs to monetize it. But…you’re here celebrating…and I felt the need to share my opinion on this tricky subject. And THANK YOU for giving us a way to DISABLE this. This is ofc great news for you, since now all those players unwilling to pay for your game on the other platforms will happily pay for it. Now you’re opening this clean house to the filth that it’s out there. You’re ******* us, the people that chose PS because it’s a (mostly) “clean environment”. I can accept Xplay for CERTAIN games (the non-competitive ones), but allowing the hackfest platforms into the PS ecosystem IS WRONG. Or at least FORCE Devs to make it that we can DISABLE the whole thing if we want to. The other platforms (and the companies behind the games) are going to be thrilled anyway. If you keep this up you’re going TO KILL every crossplatform MP game available. What happened with all the “we protect our ecosystem” BS? Yeah, right. You don’t need to give handouts to the losers.
Why, Sony, why!? You didn’t have to crack under pressure. On behalf of the entire team, THANK YOU for your passion and persistence as we continue to do our best to make Rocket League the best experience we can. It’s because of you, our fans, and our generous partners on all systems and services that have made this possible in the first place.
Today’s announcement is an important one for us here at Psyonix, because we know how much our community has wanted full cross-platform support for quite some time. Should you want to play with friends on other platforms before cross-platform parties release, however, you can! Just select Play from the Main Menu, then Private Match, followed by Create or Join Private Match, and you’re set from there.
You are now ready to play against gamers on other platforms across the world!īut what about cross-platform parties? In our first update this year (more information coming soon), we will release our cross-platform party system, which allows you to partner up with friends on any platform with the push of a few buttons. To make sure that Cross-Platform play is enabled (it is by default), head to the Main Menu, select Options and then make sure the Cross-Platform Play box is checked in the Gameplay tab.
If you don't think any of the above situations apply, you can use this feedback form to request a review of this block. With special thanks to all of our friends and colleagues at PlayStation, we are thrilled to announce that starting right now, Rocket League has entered the PlayStation Cross-Play Beta program! Players on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam PC can now randomly matchmake with or against each other in all Online match types (i.e.
